BLACKWELL'S RECORD OF THE WEEK + GIVEAWAY!!
Jack White

Frozen Charlotte

scum stats: I should know this, truly, but there's a lot going on today

Some twenty-eight years into the rhythm of my personal involvement in releasing records with Jack White and it still gets exciting. Album drops are great culminations of months (years!) of work and planning and plotting and scheming and it's not faded a lick since this 15-year-old scamp pawed through his first box of "Let's Shake Hands" and said to no one in particular "people will collect this one day."

So in the spirit of premonitions and prophecies....post in the comments the best thing you ever predicted. Be truthful. Get your comment in by midnight July 16th and the winner (winners?) chosen by me will get a badass copy of "Frozen Charlotte" maybe some extras tossed in, fun times cool stuff thanks for your participation.

When I was little I went to a fete and saw a giant Pink Panther teddy being given away as a tombola prize. I was so sure we would get it for my big brother that my parents had to keep buying tickets. And then we finally got the rinky-dink panther himself, and my brother loved it!
…I later found out my parents paid a load of money to buy it from the stall owner after losing every time on the tombola – but the prediction was still true!

When I was around 7 or so, I was at the local amusement park in Gothenburg. At one of those prize wheels where you could win chocolate the number 3 just won as we walked up. I told my mother that I was sure the number 3 would win again the next round. She laughed but placed a coin on 3 (as the previous winner left happy with their price) Would you believe it, number 3 came up again and we won first prize. Ever since that insane prediction, I say that 3 is my lucky number and always play it. Obviously never won anything of note on it ever again.

Racking my brain and all I can think of (prompted by my wife) is that I was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2021.
Throughout the three month of MRIs and tests before the (only option) surgery, I was as calm as you like just telling my wife, kids, parents, that it would be fine and to let the surgeon do his job and trust him. He even took a photo of my brain during surgery for me.
It just seemed obvious to me that I would be fine.
I was and was indeed back at work three months later, 100% okay.
My wife always tells me she couldn’t believe how adamant I was. Looking back I now can’t believe it and I crap my pants thinking I had a golf ball sized tumour removed from the major artery in my brain. How was I not worried?!?!?
Anyway, success predicted, success achieved.

Many years ago after watching the film “Every Which Way but Loose” I predicted that in the future an orangutan as clever as Clyde could be president of the USA. My prediction nearly came true, unfortunately it was Clyde’s dumber half brother Donald that got voted in.

Watching the people get lairy, it’s not very pretty I tell thee. Walking through town is quite scary, It’s not very sensible either.

A friend of a friend he got beaten. He looked the wrong way at a policeman. Would never have happened to Smeaton. An Old Leodensian.

I predict a riot.

The best thing i predicted… well it’s going to be a bit personnal, but my brother had an addiction issue, and everyone was worried since he was about to be a dad, i was the only one putting all my hope on this little girl shoulders and trusting her in the capability of a child to change her parents, even in something as dark as addiction, and it didn’t miss, he stopped alcohol and gambling on the day he got her in his arms. Totally changed him in the softest way possible, no fights, no arguments, only by the pure love a dad has for his daughter
