Rami & The Reliables
Pouring Out A Bottle Of Wine b/w After All
scum stats: I'd guess 200 copies
A-side is a timeless Hank Williams-inspired country and western that begs the question...with how intertwined the aforementioned genre is with faith (Christianity, almost exclusively) I feel like the presence of church-style organ in that realm is surprisingly infrequent. Could be a bounty of reasons here...church organs weren't terribly mobile for years, meaning having one in the studio or even just on tour would be a literal heavy lift.
Anyway, I enjoy the organ backing here. Buzzkillers might begrudge it all as incongruous to the era, but it's their job to rob the world of joy so pay them no mind.
B-side more of a downtempo 50's r&b torch song vibe with doo-wop inklings and we should always welcome more reminders that the distance between r&b and country & western is infinitesimal.
I don't question the appearance of multiple copies of unsolicited 7-inch records here at Third Man...I just thank the vinyl gods and make sure to share the love. So If the tariffs got you down and pockets aren't bulging, just post a comment below before midnight central on Thursday April 10th and I will give away the extra copy I have of this record. Winner will be chosen completely at random, so your chances are strong. Just like this single.
Would love!
