$he's Out For The Ca$h b/w Let Me Get Close To You
About 15 years ago, it felt like there was in neverending wellspring of Detroit rap 12-inch singles that I had never seen or heard before. I bought everything I could.
Now, with the advent of Discogs, seemingly everything is documented and traceable. And while I like that, I miss the ability to be confronted with surprises as frequently as I used to.
So just pulled this one out of a stack, can't remember where or when I got it, but appreciate it purely for how stereotypical it is...from the artwork to the production, it's so of-the-era, so unmistakable, that I can only revel in its form. The fact that it was pressed at A+R and not Archer is a bit of a red herring...but otherwise, just enjoy this slice of 1989 Detroit hip hop.
