As much as I love 70's punk rock from Southeastern Michigan, I feel like I often have to apologize or give disclaimers for it. From groups that never put out a record, to bands that put out records on *barely* functional record labels, to bands that only have one good song...it gets tiring.

So it is quite refreshing to land upon the most unfuckwithable Detroit punk rock single. No excuses, no caveats...just pure unadulterated rock and roll.

Destroy All Monsters interestingly features Ron Asheton from the Stooges on guitar and Mike Davis from the MC5 on bass.

These two songs are jams, with lead singer Niagara nailing nihilistic punk punch in a way that would later translate well into her career as a pop art painter, much in the mold of Roy Lichtenstein.

The later the output of the band, the more hit or miss it is. But any of their 7-inches from the 70's are solid. Worth the effort. Do yourself a favor...listen to 'em.
