Annie's voice has a singularity, a unique profile that stands alone, not like some sort of alien, but just something without reasonable compare. Her voice shines and her songs feel like the perfect vehicle of accompaniment.
The album is brilliant, truly, and I cannot recommend it enough.

Agreed, this is a great album. There is a new generation of female singer/songwriters breaking through at the moment (over the last year or two) and, whilst they are getting some recognition* in the music press they should be getting more attention by a wider audience.
*one artist I point everyone to is Grace Cummings. What a voice. Ramona is (in my opinion) album of the year. Check it out if you haven’t already.
