My Favorite Shrine
scums stats: as this is an International Pop Underground release, I don't think it's limited
A five-song 7-inch that delights in every which way. Upbeat without pummeling the cheeriness, twee without veering into childishness, simple without being stubborn, reminiscent without being retro, brief without leaving you hanging.
I'm quite reminded of the Vivian Girls here, but with an added special something, hard to put my finger on. The songs feel important. The songs feel like they are the start of a trajectory that could very well lead to bigger things. Get in on the ground floor. Recommended.
