Pretty sure I bought this record based on the description of "solo vibraphone/marimba debut album." There can't be many of those happening this year, right?

And that's pretty straightforward what you get here. No voice, no accoutrements...just the tonal members of the percussion family waltzing around, reminiscent of the instrumental interstitials of "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood."

The mood is austere, with lots of space for the contemplative expansion. Room to get lost, seemingly removed from a more standard song structure, these vibes meander and lead on a path of unencumbered progression.

Don't think this will be everybody's bag, but at the right time and place, this recording will surely soothe.
