“You’ve Got Me Wrong” +3 EP

scum stats: as hard as this has been to find, if it’s 500 or more I’d be shocked

Oh lord a COVID miracle my top Michigan punk want has finally landed in my lap.

For years I’d never even SEEN a copy of this one, never mind HEARD, let alone a copy for sale. Then a seller unleashed two, one after another.

Three years ago, Buy-It-Now $500. I hemmed and hawed, probably had just paid for some emergency room visit stitches or some shit and never got to really make the decision.

Then it was gone. Another copy Buy-It-Now for $700 the following day. Damn. Thought about it, made an “offer” and then clearly it had sold to someone else that same day.

Cut to a few weeks ago a copy listed on eBay for $1500. Double damn.

Hemmed and hawed again, made an “offer” and ultimately it was accepted.

Having it in my hands now I am even more excited to find out it was pressed at Archer in Detroit and was made in the year of my birth, 1982.

The tunes are enjoyable. I’d heard this described as everything from power pow to garage thuggish and while neither of those feel exact, they don’t feel terribly off either.

Smooth and tight without being slick. Lock-step. High energy a little bit of a Real Kids Boston punk vibe. It’s alright.

And if I had more time, I would rip ‘em and make the tunes available for you to hear here, but life is busy now.

In the interim, if anyone has a copy of the Infections single “Girls In Magazines” that’s the last of my legit Michigan punk wants. Then I can die happy.
