Third Man Records has announced a new single from My Bubba as the latest addition to its extraordinary "Blue Series." Side A of the single, "Gone," debuted today in a premiere via NPR, who called the track "a richer tone than other tunes from this pair, though even with the addition of thunderous, heart-pounding tom-toms, bass and keyboards the duo haven't let go of the porcelain-fragile sound of their last record" "Gone" b/w "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" will be available on 7" 45rpm vinyl via Third Man and digitally via the iTunes Store tomorrow -- Friday, June 30th.

Produced by Jack White III at Third Man Studio in Nashville, "Gone" b/w "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" marks the first new release in Third Man's ongoing "Blue Series" since June 2016 as well as the first Blue Series single to follow Third Man Books' newly released The Blue Series: The Story Behind the Color, Volume One.

"Gone" b/w "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" is also the first new release from My Bubba following last year's acclaimed Big Bad Good. The Scandinavian folk duo - Icelander Guðbjörg Tómasdóttir (a.k.a. Bubba) and Sweden's My Larsdotter - formed in 2013 and have since concocted a soulful, unadorned sound all their own utilizing little more than the basic elements of warm harmonies, acoustic guitar, and the Norwegian lap harp known as a cittra. Big Bad Good, My Bubba's latest full-length release, was produced in Brooklyn by Shahzad Ismaily (Will Oldham, Jolie Holland), with its songs written and recorded almost immediately as they were written, the intimate early takes capturing the rawness and mesmerizing power of a newborn song.

While their prior work was recorded almost entirely as a duo, "Gone" sees My Bubba joined in Third Man Studio by a backing combo that includes bassist Jack Lawrence and keyboardist Dean Fertita.

"'Gone' is about loving and losing sense of time and space cause your heart is beating so loud," says My Bubba's My. "Dean Fertita and 'Little Jack Lawrence' came by and performed like alien ladies on the keys and bass. 'Gone' was the first of our songs written on the lap harp, which I found in my old boyfriend's attic - it used to be his grandmother's, but she died many years before and wasn't using it anymore. He told me it was older than a century and I immediately liked it. I wrote the song about him and kept the harp when we broke up."

"'You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go' was pretty much the first song we ever sang together," My says, "right when we first met as flatmates in Copenhagen almost a decade ago. We still play it most evenings together on the road. Sometimes we try singing it on our own, but we don't know the melody without each other's harmony. Symbiotic singers...It's also one from the family song book, since it's written by my father's wife's ex-husband's mother's previous lover, Uncle Bob Dylan."
